What we collect, what we don't, and how your IRCTC account stays under your control.

Rango is an AI assistance layer over the official IRCTC website. You log in with your own IRCTC account, and your credentials are stored on your device — never on Rango's servers.

1. What Rango is

Rango is a personal AI assistant for train travel that you use by chatting in plain language. It helps you find trains, plan your journey, and pick the best option to book your ticket. Rango is an independent accessibility and convenience tool with no affiliation to IRCTC or Indian Railways. You book your own ticket, in your own name, directly on IRCTC — Rango only automates steps you would otherwise perform yourself, and you enter the CAPTCHA yourself.

2. Information stored on your device

Your IRCTC credentials (username and password) are stored on your device only. They are used solely to sign you into IRCTC inside the app's booking session, and are never transmitted to or stored on Rango's servers. Your journey preferences and saved trips are likewise stored locally on your device.

3. Information we collect

  • Account tag: your IRCTC user ID is used to tag your Rango account. Before you log in, activity is tagged with an anonymous on-device install ID instead.
  • Conversation with the assistant: your chat messages and Rango's replies may be processed and logged to improve and support the service.
  • Payment information: when you pay the AI-assistance fee, payment is handled by our payment gateway. We receive a payment confirmation and reference ID; we do not store your full card or banking details. The train fare is paid by you directly to IRCTC — Rango never receives or handles your train fare.
  • Diagnostic data: if something fails, we may collect error information to fix bugs and keep the service reliable.

4. How we use your information

  • To provide the assistant: search trains, plan journeys, and show PNR / journey status.
  • To process the AI-assistance fee and provide receipts.
  • To respond to support requests, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.

5. AI processing

Your chat messages are processed by a large language model to understand your request and decide the next assistance action. Rango is powered by AI, and AI can make mistakes — please double check your booking details with irctc official website. By continuing to use Rango, you consent to this processing.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run Rango — for example, our payment gateway for processing the AI-assistance fee, and our hosting/AI providers — and only as needed to deliver the service or comply with law.

7. Independence & disclaimer

Rango is an independent third-party assistant, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by IRCTC or Indian Railways. Ticket availability, fares, refunds and cancellations are governed entirely by IRCTC.
