Refund & Cancellation Policy

How refunds work for the Rango journey-planning fee — and how train ticket refunds are handled.

Rango AI charges only a journey-planning fee for the use of its AI assistant. The train fare is charged and held by IRCTC, not by Rango. This policy covers the Rango journey-planning fee. Train ticket cancellations and fare refunds are governed entirely by IRCTC's rules.

1. The Rango journey-planning fee

The journey-planning fee is charged for the assistance Rango provides in finding and planning your trip. Because the fee is for a service that has already been delivered, it is generally non-refundable.

However, we will refund the journey-planning fee in the following cases:

  • You were charged a fee but the journey-planning assistance could not be provided (for example, a technical failure on our side).
  • You were charged more than the published journey-planning fee.
  • A duplicate fee was charged for the same trip.

2. Train ticket cancellations & fare refunds

To cancel a train ticket or claim a fare refund, you must use IRCTC directly (the IRCTC website, app, or counter). Fare refunds are calculated and paid by IRCTC according to Indian Railways' cancellation rules, and are credited back through IRCTC to the original payment method you used on IRCTC. Rango does not hold, process, or refund train fares.
